Electrophorus electricus

Electrophorus electricus I would like to sing you a song. You’re commonly called the electric eel, but you are not an eel at all.

You come from South America, the fourth largest continent on earth. You sometimes grow to nine-feet long and have a man’s thigh in girth.

Oh, Electrophorus electricus you are a beautiful glowing fish. Oh, Electrophorus electricus to have one of you would be my wish.

You swim in freshwater and shock your prey to dine on them; two amps of current, 500 volts, 1000 watts, and they can’t swim. (You immobilize them.)

Your shock could stun a man or kill a horse; it is very strong. You swim real slow, but who really cares? You’ve got nothing to do all day long.
