American Dream
Just graduated, mom starts complaining— what you planning on doing next year? “I don’t know”, better think of something— before long end of summer will be here. Thought a while, said we’d get a band, put red dye in our hair, then we’ll jump around and make some money. We’ll be livin’ the American Dream!
American kids doing American things. Got a band and a whole lot of dreams. Gonna’ be rich by the time I’m sixteen. We’re all livin’ the American Dream.
Of course mom thinks that we can’t make it. But we’ve got everything we need. So we’ll get together and make some music, put some green dye in our hair. We’ll shake the walls, and I’ll scream real loud. But we’ll be livin’ the American Dream.
Practicing music Monday through Friday. Spend the weekends shooting pool. Get a three-story mansion and a red sports car, put some yellow dye in my hair. Be number one all year long. And we’ll be part of the American Dream.
So we played a demo that everyone liked. Playing concerts all week long. Starting world tour next July, put some purple dye in my hair. We’re the biggest thing since Elvis Presley. And we are the American Dream!
